The Syrian authorities thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of Captagon pills, which were hidden in a bus garage in the city of Hama and destined for export abroad to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA. The Ministry of the Interior stated in a statement that the seized quantity amounted to about 26,000 pills, hidden inside a metal bed and disguised under a wooden cover. Legal measures were taken and the seized items were confiscated. The Ministry stated that the Anti-Drug Administration is intensifying its efforts in coordination with internal security forces to put an an end to the scourge of drugs, noting that the foiling of the smuggling operation highlights the level of readiness and efficiency of the concerned security authorities.
