Abdullah ad-Dardari, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, announced that during a visit to Iraq, an agreement was reached that the Global Development Program will enhance its activities in the region.
During this visit, ad-Dardari held a series of meetings with representatives of the Iraqi government and other interested parties. It was noted that Iraq has become a recipient of important resources from the Global Development Program, and this agreement strengthens and boosts these resources.
"We have agreed that the Global Development Program will increase its activities in Iraq, not only in the realm of humanitarian assistance but also in the goals of ensuring sustainability and development," emphasized ad-Dardari.
The representative of the Global Development Program in Iraq also underscored the significance of this agreement for the country and the region as a whole, stressing that it will help ensure more stable food supplies for all segments of the Iraqi population.
