Syrian actor Bassam Kousa has openly shared his personal views on the former Syrian regime, especially after accusations of a friendship linking him to former President Bashar al-Assad. Kousa, in an interview with journalist Mohammad Qais in the podcast 'I Have a Question,' stated that he has his own way of expressing his opinion, clarifying that no one can impose a way of thinking on others. He denied that his words could be interpreted as an apology, saying, 'Sorry for what? What did I do?!'. He explained that since the Syrian movement began, the situation required a third voice and people capable of thinking with calmness, wisdom, and logic, saying, 'And even now we need cool heads instead of hot ones that issue accusations of heresy and excommunication.'
