Deborah Tice, mother of American journalist Austin Tice, who was kidnapped in Damascus in 2012, expressed hope that the administration of the new U.S. President Donald Trump would be extremely interested in "bringing Austin back home."
Tice said at a news conference: "During the time spent here in Damascus, I was fortunate to meet with the new Syrian leader... It was remarkable to know that they are sincerely working on the return of my son and your son back home."
In Damascus - Verified by French Press Agency (AFP) - Deborah Tice, mother of American journalist Austin Tice, confirmed that Syrian authorities are committed to his return, these words coming after a meeting with the new leader, Ahmed Shaar in Damascus, heard on Monday.
