The Israeli leadership has directed the armed forces of the country to begin preparing for the defense of the town of Jaraman in Syria, south of Damascus. This order was given by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz after reports appeared in the media about the possible presence of missile systems in the area, attributed to Iranian forces.
According to Netanyahu, the protection of Israel from hostile actions of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, present in the Syrian province of Rif-Dimashq, remains the primary task. He also stressed that Israel will continue to take all necessary steps to guarantee the security of its citizens.
"We will not allow the presence of Iranian rockets and other weapons in the hands of our enemies threatening our population," Netanyahu said, adding that such actions only exacerbate tensions in the region.
