UN Condemns Mosque Attack in Homs

On Friday, a terrorist attack targeted the Al‑Ali Ibn Abi Talib mosque in the Wadi al‑Zahab neighborhood of Homs, Syria. The assault, carried out during Friday prayers, resulted in the deaths of numerous civilians and caused severe injuries to many others. Local residents reported the explosion to authorities.

The United Nations immediately condemned the violence, stating that attacks against civilians and places of worship are unacceptable. UN Secretary‑General António Guterres demanded that those responsible be held accountable and urged an international investigation. He also emphasized the need for justice.
