Syria's Foreign Ministry stated on Friday that the mosque bombing in Homs is part of "desperate attempts" to destabilize the situation, promising to "hold the perpetrators accountable" after the death of at least eight people.
According to the ministry, the incident occurred in a tense context as extremists take new steps to undermine peace in the country. The ministry emphasized that those responsible for the attack will be found and punished.
"This crime will not go unpunished," the statement reads. "We will resolve this issue and protect our citizens."
