Five people were killed and ten others injured in a fire that broke out last night in a house in the Ghouta area of the central Syrian city of Homs. According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), on Sunday, Head of Homs Operations for the Civil Defense, Obaid al-Othman, stated that the fire started in a first-floor house due to a kerosene heater. This prompted the homeowner to flee to the upper floors, but the thick smoke that reached the upper floors led to cases of suffocation among residents, resulting in fatalities and injuries. Al-Othman clarified that the death toll reached five, including three women and two men, while ten injured people were treated at the scene by ambulances.
