Syrian Civil Defense announced on Wednesday evening that it had successfully rescued a child who fell into a well near the city of Tabqa in Raqqa province. The well was about 30 meters deep and 35 centimeters in diameter. The rescue operation, which lasted over six hours, involved teams from the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib. Rescue workers supplied the child with oxygen and maintained communication with him, while attempting to extract him through the well shaft and digging a parallel tunnel. A specialist in well rescue operations also participated, which contributed to the success of the mission.
