Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, emir of Qatar, arrived at Damascus International Airport within the framework of a visit to Syria. Upon his arrival, he was greeted by the President of Syria Bashar Al-Assad, and during the negotiations, they discussed Syrian-Qatari cooperation in various fields. Special attention was paid to the discussion of the situation in the region and the perspectives for the regulation of conflicts. During the visit, agreements on cooperation between the two countries related to economics, investments, and cultural exchange were also signed.
One of the representatives of the official delegation of Qatar noted: 'This visit underscores Qatar's commitment to strengthening relations with Syria and participating in the process of restoring the country after a prolonged conflict.' It was also stated that there is a need for joint efforts to ensure stability and security in the region.
The sides exchanged views on the current state of affairs in the region and emphasized the importance of coordinating actions to ensure peace and prosperity in the region. The leaders discussed the prospects for further cooperation and agreed on the continued strengthening of relations between Qatar and Syria.
