The leader of the Pakistani government, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, expressed hope for peace, progress, and prosperity for Syria. In an official statement, he wished success to the new president of the country, Ahmed Sharaab, and expressed readiness to fully support the Syrian people during this important period.
"We hope that the new leadership will achieve peace, progress, and welfare for the fraternal Syrian people," Sharif emphasized.
On another note, Russia stated on Monday that it continues negotiations with the new authorities of Syria on several issues, including the transfer of two military bases from Moscow in the country.
