The President of Syria, Ahmed Shara, stated in an interview with The Economist that his government is striving to restore relations with the United States. "We are ready for dialogue with all countries, including the USA, if it is in the interests of our peoples," noted the president. Shara also emphasized that Syria is interested in international relations with all countries, especially those that respect sovereignty and the independence of other countries.
