Syrian authorities detained a high-ranking leader of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (banned in Russia), who, according to their words, was responsible for planning a preventive attack aimed at the place of worship.
"This arrest underscores our determination to fight terrorism in all its manifestations and ensure the safety of citizens," stated an official representative.
It is noteworthy that in recent years Syria has faced a series of terrorist attacks carried out by various extremist groups, including "ISIS."
