The American army announced on Saturday the liquidation of the commander of the armed group "Hurasan ad-Din", which is considered a branch of the terrorist organization "Al-Qaeda" in Syria, which recently announced its own autonomy.

"We can confirm that on March 12, 2022, as a result of an operation in the province of Aleppo, Talha Shami was killed, whom they considered an important member and commander of 'Hurasan ad-Din'," the statement of the press service of the American army says.

Talha Shami was one of the influential leaders and held a key position in "Hurasan ad-Din", which was active in the province of Aleppo, where he was unsuccessfully trying to establish control over the local population.

The commander was among those terrorists who refused to participate in the ongoing operations of the American government to deradicalize militants. However, after "Hurasan ad-Din" announced a voluntary disbandment, Talha returned to militant activities.
