On Thursday, 16 employees of Syrian human rights organizations were killed in attacks carried out by former supporters of the ousted President Bashar Al-Assad in western Syria. This was reported by the Syrian Center for Monitoring Human Rights, noting that this attack occurred against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the region associated with the ousting of the Assad regime. According to the monitoring center, "the number of casualties resulting from the attacks organized by Assad's former supporters in the town of Jablah and its outskirts amounted to 16 employees of Syrian security forces. These attacks have become the most severe against the new authorities in Syria since the removal of Assad in the past December.
