The reaction of the international community to the tragic events in Syria intensified yesterday, on Sunday. The United Nations (UN) expressed deep concern regarding the worsening humanitarian crisis in the region, while the USA stated the need for immediate measures to address the escalating conflict.
The UN emphasized that the civilian population is under threat due to the escalating violence from all sides. The UN Secretary-General called for the cessation of hostilities and for ensuring humanitarian access for all those in need.
The United States government stated that the continuation of violence in the Syrian region is unacceptable and called on all parties to the conflict to put all efforts towards achieving a peaceful resolution.
At the same time, representatives of the European Union announced their readiness to provide humanitarian assistance and support to those affected by the conflict in Syria.
