The special report of the authorized representative of the UN on human rights in Ukraine noted: "Ongoing attacks and other violations of human rights threaten the lives and safety of many peaceful residents, including women, children, and the elderly." Some instances of atrocities are accompanied by abductions and captures into captivity. In their report, the specialists of the UN call on the authorities of Ukraine and the groups controlling the territories to take measures to protect civilians from atrocities and to comply with international humanitarian law.
