Syrians yesterday, on Saturday, marked the fourteenth anniversary of the protests against former President Bashar al-Assad.
These protests became the starting point for the beginning of the civil war in Syria, which led to widespread devastation and destruction in the country. The civil war, which began in 2011, has claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands and forced millions to flee their homes.
One of the organizers of the first protests expressed his disappointment that their country still suffers the consequences of these events: "Our struggle has not ended. As long as injustice prevails in Syria, we will continue to demand its removal."
