On Friday, the U.S. State Department warned its citizens against traveling to Syria. In an official statement published on their platform, it is stated:
"Syria remains a dangerous place for visits due to the ongoing conflict, terrorist attacks, abductions, and widespread violence. In light of this, the State Department recommends that American citizens refrain from traveling to this country."
The statement also notes that the level of assistance to U.S. citizens in Syria is extremely limited due to the absence of a diplomatic presence from the country there.
