In the province of Suwayda, in southern Syria, a gradual return to normalcy is being observed after several days of heightened tensions caused by the implementation of the agreement.

On Tuesday, October 19, the head of the Syrian police announced that security forces began patrolling the streets of the city in cooperation with local structures to restore public order and protect citizens.

"We have launched joint patrols with the municipality and other organizations to ensure the safety of citizens and protect public order," quoted the police commander of the SANA agency.

These measures were taken following several days of unrest triggered by a series of incidents, including shootings and acts of vandalism that occurred in the city, SANA reported.

Authorities are conducting investigations into the incidents and are also strengthening security measures in the region with the aim of normalizing the situation.
