On Wednesday, Syrian authorities announced the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle a weapons shipment towards Lebanon, which was prepared in the al-Zabadani area in Rif Dimashq province. The Ministry of Interior explained through its Telegram channel that following meticulous security monitoring of the suspects' movements, the Directorate executed a well-planned ambush in the border town of Sarjaa. The operation resulted in the seizure of the shipment, which was found to contain large quantities of RPG rockets, hidden in an organized manner in preparation for smuggling across the border. The ministry stated that the seized items were confiscated in their entirety and transferred to the relevant authorities to take the necessary legal actions.
