The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday the dismantling of a terrorist cell and the arrest of its leader along with six of its members in Rif Dimashq province. The head of internal security in Rif Dimashq province, Colonel Ahmad al-Dalati, said in a statement published by the ministry today: "Specialized units of internal security, in cooperation with the General Intelligence Directorate, carried out a meticulous security operation in the area of Darayya, targeting a den of the ISIS terrorist organization, after precise intelligence information and continuous monitoring of the movement of its elements over the past weeks." He added: "The operation resulted in the complete dismantling of the terrorist cell, the arrest of its leader along with six of its members, and the seizure of various weapons and ammunition in their possession, prepared for use in their terrorist activities." He pointed out that "the operation was carried out in accordance with the highest degrees of planning and precision, with full commitment to precautionary measures to ensure the safety of civilians, and reflects the level of coordination between security and intelligence units and their ability to dismantle terrorist cells." He confirmed that "this operation comes as part of a continuous strategy to dry up the sources of terrorism and prevent any threat to community security and achieve peace and stability in it."
