Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa confirmed that he did not agree with Al-Qaeda's policies and was not aligned with their convictions, which is why he did not continue with them. Regarding his vision for his country's future, Sharaa stated that Syria is adopting a different approach to avoid repeating the mistakes of past experiences. He emphasized that Syria stands in solidarity with Gaza and has suffered similarly, and that standards have been set to hold accountable those who committed crimes over the past 14 years. Sharaa stressed that a priority of Syrian policy is transitional justice, which requires building institutional capacity and a clear legal reference for all people so that every perpetrator can be held accountable. He mentioned that Syria was isolated from the world in the past and that various means were used to bring it out of isolation, and the return of Syrian refugees is linked to the reconstruction of Syria. Sharaa added that they are part of those who were victims of the crimes of the former regime. Regarding domestic affairs in Syria, he said they held a national dialogue that resulted in recommendations and a constitutional declaration, and they held elections for the People's Council, the first session of which will begin next month. By the end of the transitional period, they will have paved the way for free elections in Syria. Sharaa confirmed that since arriving in Damascus, weapons have been confined to the state and the rule of law has been enforced, stating that it is not acceptable for armed factions and groups to exist in Syria as the Syrian people need to establish the foundations of stability and the return of refugees. He indicated that Russian bases in Syria will be converted into centers for training the Syrian army. Regarding his visit to Europe, Sharaa said the United Kingdom contributed to supporting Syria and lifting sanctions on the Syrian people, and that they held productive meetings today that will further enhance relations. On Syrian-Russian relations, Sharaa stated there are historical ties between Russia and Syria, and being in the White House one day and the Kremlin the next is evidence of the activity of Syrian diplomacy. Sharaa warned during his participation in a dialogue session at the Royal Institute of International Affairs 'Chatham House' in London on Tuesday against the control of arbitrary policies on the scene and their negative impact on the region and Gulf countries. He said there are historical conditions the region is facing, but from the first moment, they tried to keep Syria away from the ongoing tensions, attempting to measure matters accurately to avoid being targeted, forcing them to respond to targeting. Sharaa confirmed that Israel dealt with Syria negatively, and they tried through dialogue and discussion to reach good points, but in the final moments, everything changed. The Syrian President arrived in the United Kingdom yesterday as part of his campaign tour to Germany, his first visit to Germany and the UK. Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa affirmed that his country has no official relations with Iran, and said, 'If we are targeted, we will be forced to respond.'
