France confirms its unwavering priorities in the fight against terrorism on Syrian soil. During an official visit to Damascus, French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot stated that the war against the terrorist group "Islamic State" remains an absolute priority for Paris.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday, the French diplomat emphasized the importance of international cooperation on this issue. According to him, the security of the region and Europe directly depends on stability in Syria. Barrot's visit marks one of the first visits by a high-ranking Western official to the Syrian capital in recent years, signaling a shift in political policy and the resumption of dialogue.
"The war against Daesh is an absolute priority for France," the minister stated.
This move demonstrates France's readiness to contribute to Syria's reconstruction and ensure long-term security of its borders. It is expected that discussions will also cover humanitarian aid and future economic ties between the two nations.
