Attacker on military in Palmyra was Syrian security forces member

(Reuters) Three Syrian officials told Reuters that the man who attacked Syrian and American military personnel in the central city of Palmyra on Saturday was a member of Syrian security forces. A spokesperson for Syria's Ministry of the Interior told a Syrian state TV news channel that the attacker did not hold a leadership position in the security forces.
