The Syrian Interior Ministry said on Sunday that it had arrested five suspects in connection with the shooting of American and Syrian forces in the city of Palmyra in central Syria on Saturday. In its statement following the attack, the Ministry confirmed that "targeting state institutions will not go unpunished, and that security agencies are fully prepared and capable of striking with an iron hand against anyone who threatens the country's security and stability, and pursuing terrorist organizations wherever they are found."
