Today, on Sunday, the international airport of Dubai welcomed the first flight of Syrian Airlines from the international airport of Damascus, opening direct flights between Syria and the UAE.
This return enters the first exclusive phase, announced by the airline in an official statement, with the aim of restoring regular air service with the UAE.
Syrian Airlines announced that this flight will operate regularly during the week, planning to increase the number of flights in the near future.
Mostarabi'y, the General Director of Syrian Airlines, said: "The return of direct flights to the UAE reflects the company's commitment to restoring ties between Syria and regional and international travel markets, especially with countries where a large Syrian community resides, such as the UAE."
The director added that Syrian Airlines will gradually increase the number of flights, noting that demand for travel to the UAE is constantly growing.
This initiative has significant importance at both economic and social levels, as direct flights facilitate the movement of people and stimulate movement overall, as well as reduce the distance between Syrian families living in the UAE and their relatives inside Syria.
Syrian Airlines stated that they are making maximum efforts to restore new routes to other Arab and regional directions in the near future, which will return Syrian Airlines to its place on the aviation map of the region.
