Damascus demanded, on Thursday, the return of its seized assets in the European Union countries, confirming that this is a right for its people. In this context, a Syrian official said: "We hope that these assets will be returned to Syria for use in improving the economic conditions in the country." He added: "These assets belong to the Syrian people and form an important part of stabilizing the economic situation in the country." He pointed out that several European countries have imposed economic sanctions on Syria, which has led to the freezing of its assets in the banks of those countries, aiming to impose pressure on the Syrian government. It is expected that these demands will spark extensive discussions in the coming days about how to deal with these assets and whether they should be returned to Syria or not.
