On Tuesday, Syrian Foreign Minister Asad al-Shibani announced that he had received a signed decision from the US Secretary of State to lift all previously imposed legal measures against the Syrian mission and the Syrian embassy in the United States, enabling them to fully resume their activities. Shibani added: "We have received a signed decision from my friend, the US Secretary of State, which stipulates the lifting of all legal measures." Shibani also wrote on the platform X: "Today, Syria returns to exercising its diplomatic role with full freedom on American soil, as part of the strategic plan of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs." Accordingly, the Syrian embassy officially resumes its work in the United States after more than 12 years of its closure.
