The President of Syria, Ahmad Shara, received the leader of the Druze, Walid Jumblatt, at the Naraad Palace in Damascus today, on Friday. The Presidency of Syria reported that President Ahmad Shara and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Assad Hasaan Sheikh Bani, met with Walid Jumblatt, the former president of the Progressive Socialist Party.
Jumblatt's visit to Damascus took place the day after the Druze leaders reached an agreement on the surrender of weapons and ensuring public security in the areas of Jarmana and Sahnaya not far from Damascus after the cessation of hostilities. This visit marked the second for Jumblatt's leader in Damascus since the fall of Assad's regime in December 2024.
